About

Light Priority Studios

Wait a minute. Is this Light Priority Studios or is it Adam Blom? In short, it's both.

Light Priority Studios is a name I created to brand work I create for the web. The concept of "light priority" is one I use in my amateur photography. Knowing how to use light is the fundamental building block of a great photograph. Similarly, knowing how to use code to create seamless functionality is what makes a website great. Conversely, bad code can ruin an otherwise beautiful website, just as bad use of light can ruin an otherwise beautiful subject in a photograph.

About

Adam Blom

I started my professional life as an analytical chemist working in the pharmaceutical industry. While it is a career path I look back upon fondly, I realized my real passion was for code and for the web. I pride myself on always putting forth the best code I am capable and continuously learning in order to expand my skillset. While I like design and the visual aspects of creating for the web, I truly have found my love in code.

I currently am well versed in HTML5, CSS 3 and JavaScript/jQuery on the front-end and focus primarily on PHP and MySQL on the back-end. While I am well-versed in Wordpress and appreciate the power of a well-designed CMS, I also find nothing more satisfying than coding from scratch if the project necessitates so doing. In addition to keeping up on my existing skills, I am currently in the process of learning Python to expand my toolset.

Outside of coding for the web, I fill out my life as an amateur photographer, enjoy watching pretty much any genre of movie, and given any extra time, getting in some time playing video games.
