to Light Priority Studios
Light Priority Studios is home to the creations and projects of Adam Blom, a web developer based near Boston, Massachusetts.
Here are a few examples of some of the websites and web applications I developed. Unless otherwise noted, I am responsible for design and development of all projects featured below.
The Lofts at Bigelow Mills
A ground-up redesign of an existing site highlighting real estate available for sale. I was responsible for the design and development including an interactive floorplan tool and putting the new site into Wordpress for easy editing by the site owner.
Great Dog Rescue New England
This project was one I created in school. The goal was to select a site and complete a full redesign and functionality development. The GDRNE project included a full visual redesign, php templating and creating a custom Wordpress theme for ease of maintenance.
GrocEx, is a grocery list web application created in PHP and MySQL. The site design is responsive. Originally created while in school, I am currently expanding the functionality and making the user experience better with a visual redesign and additional AJAX.
Working with a UX designer and a designer/developer, I was responsible for all of the back-end development as well as assisting on the front-end development and UX/UI planning on this complete redesign, both visual and information architecture, for a local non-profit organization.
Rusself Victor, P.C.
Working with a designer (Blue Lotus Designs), I was responsible for all of the development work, front-end and back-end, on the redesign, both visual and information architecture, for a local accounting firm.
Note: Many of these projects are conceptual and include placeholder images and text to convey the design. All images and logos, unless otherwise noted, are property of their respective copyright holders.
Light Priority Studios
Wait a minute. Is this Light Priority Studios or is it Adam Blom? In short, it's both.
Light Priority Studios is a name I created to brand work I create for the web. The concept of "light priority" is one I use in my amateur photography. Knowing how to use light is the fundamental building block of a great photograph. Similarly, knowing how to use code to create seamless functionality is what makes a website great. Conversely, bad code can ruin an otherwise beautiful website, just as bad use of light can ruin an otherwise beautiful subject in a photograph.
I started my professional life as an analytical chemist working in the pharmaceutical industry. While it is a career path I look back upon fondly, I realized my real passion was for code and for the web. I pride myself on always putting forth the best code I am capable and continuously learning in order to expand my skillset. While I like design and the visual aspects of creating for the web, I truly have found my love in code.
Outside of coding for the web, I fill out my life as an amateur photographer, enjoy watching pretty much any genre of movie, and given any extra time, getting in some time playing video games.
